The Power of the Tongue: August 2025
Chapter 8 in Bruce’s book, Eternity Begins Now, our lesson for study groups this August, encourages us to “live from the Kingdom, He transferred us into, His Kingdom.”
It is impossible for us to inherit from Father what we are meant to, unless we embrace this renewal and renewed life, and this chapter addresses this renewal in terms of our speech.
There is much that can be said and has been said on this topic; however, this month, let us dwell and reflect and submerse ourselves in what Father has said in His word, the scriptures. Below are 21 scriptures that address the power of our tongue. Let us not just read through these scriptures together this month, but let us, together, as a community, meditate deeply on the power of these words and let us have them bring renewal to our speech and, in turn, our heart and mind.
This list of 21 scriptures is by no means exhaustive. I encourage you to continue adding to it — adding to your own set of scriptures that speak to you and your personal study. Let these verses become a launching point for your own exploration, reflection, and encouragement as you study how to walk in the renewal of life in Christ and guard your tongue.
